The Security Innovation Network (SINET) hosted its 10th Annual SINET Risk Executive Workshop Jan. 29-30, bringing together CISOs and risk executives for an exclusive, invitation-only event. Over the course of two days, participants engaged in thought leadership sessions that explored the evolving role of modern CISOs and risk executives.

GT Shareholder Jena Valdetero, U.S. Co-Chair of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice, was invited to present the session “Leveraging the U.S. Legal Landscape to Support Your Budget, Enhance Board Communications, and Protect Your Organization.” The session provided an overview of the current U.S. legal landscape, including recent updates to cybersecurity laws and regulations. Special focus was given to laws that mandate specific compliance measures, outlining potential risks for noncompliance. Additionally, Jena addressed the challenges of effectively communicating cybersecurity issues to non-technical executives, exploring how a stronger understanding of legal requirements could help bridge communication gaps and support a more robust cybersecurity program.
