Greenberg Traurig Shareholders Gretchen A. Ramos, Global Co-Chair of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice, and Darren Abernethy will present the ACC of San Francisco webinar, “Preparing Your Privacy Program for 2024 and Beyond,” Nov. 16 at 12:00 p.m. PST. Each year, more data protection laws are enacted, making it increasingly difficult for organizations to navigate the complicated web of rules as they attempt to leverage their data. This year, eight U.S. states passed new comprehensive privacy laws that will go into effect in the coming years, and Washington and Nevada passed health privacy laws that will take effect at the end of March 2024. In addition, there have been developments in federal privacy law, the FTC has been active on the health data front, several countries have passed or enacted new comprehensive privacy laws, and the EU is working on new regulations.

The webinar will discuss:

  • Key data protection laws going into effect in 2024
  • Applicability of these laws to organizations
  • Similarities and differences between the laws
  • Key compliance areas to focus on in 2024 given recent litigation (such as tracking technology issues, sensitive data, etc.)
