Ian Ballon, Co-Chair of the Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group, is Chair of the program and will deliver opening remarks before leading the “Cybersecurity, Data Privacy and TCPA Case Law and Litigation Trends – Year in Review” session. The presentation will cover the major new cases and trends from the past year in the law of data privacy, security breach, and TCPA class action suits. Ballon will also moderate the in-house counsel panel, “Strategies for Defending a Company and Partnering with Outside Counsel.”
Jena Valdetero, U.S. Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice, will speak on the “Ransomware Litigation” panel, which will address unique legal, business, and process issues surrounding a ransomware attack and outline how these issues subsequently play out in class action litigation, including substantive and procedural law issues and how to value and settle ransomware cases.
