DRI’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee’s virtual seminar will take place Tuesday, Oct. 26 and provide an overview of important data protection and privacy concepts and review data protection and privacy obligations imposed by state and global laws and regulations. Topics discussed will include how to comply with the challenging and ever-changing data protection and privacy laws; the use of Artificial Intelligence for making decisions that may have discriminatory patterns embedded within them; and data protection and class action trends centering on the use of biometrics, the Internet of Things (IoT) and other trends in technology that impact privacy.

Valdetero, co-chair of the firm’s U.S. Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice, and Brett Doran will present the session, “Data Protection and Privacy Class Action Trends,” which will address the newest trends in biometric, IoT and other class action data protection and privacy class action litigation.
